Our Mission
Empowering Through Purpose
Empowering through Purpose
BOXING FOR JUSTICE, a community youth outreach mentorship program, provides a safe and supportive space for youth between the ages of 12 and 18 to develop emotionally, mentally, and physically. Through boxing, education, mentorship, and community engagement, we equip them with the skills to navigate life's challenges—such as peer pressure, substance abuse, and domestic or sexual violence. While we are dedicated to combating human trafficking and exploitation, we also strive to amplify silent voices in our communities, empowering individuals to build stronger, safer communities.
IT'S NOT JUST ABOUT BOXING:
Empowerment: We empower young minds by teaching boxing techniques, fostering discipline, and building self- confidence and self- defense. Through physical training, participants learn to channel their energy positively and develop a strong sense of purpose.
Personal Growth: We aim to build not only physical strength but also inner strength. Our youth learn perseverance, focus, and respect- qualities that go beyond the boxing ring. Through the guidance of licensed coaches, mentors, and supportive law enforcement, we provide the framework for our youth to overcome life’s toughest obstacles and find their path forward.
Advocacy: We strive to raise awareness about the serious issues impacting our youth. Whether it’s exploitation, trafficking, substance abuse, or domestic and sexual violence, we are dedicated to building a strong, united community that stands against these issues.
Awareness: We raise awareness about the challenges youth face—such as peer pressure, substance abuse, and domestic or sexual violence. We are also dedicated to combating human trafficking and exploitation and strive to amplify silent voices in our communities, empowering individuals to build stronger, safer communities.
WHAT WE DO:
Athletic Sponsorships: B4J's fundraising initiatives covers travel costs and fees for athletes from low-income families to compete in tournaments and Nationals; to foster sportsmanship and camaraderie. Such efforts contribute to a sense of unity within the boxing community, particularly among young participants.
Education: We created a 20- week mentorship program that focuses on teaching participants how to identify their values and set personal goals, helping them avoid feeling lost and guiding them toward building a meaningful life. It emphasizes the development of youth leadership skills, enabling participants to become effective leaders capable of navigating life’s challenges and making a positive impact on themselves, their communities, and society. Participants are equipped with knowledge about the dangers of life, including sexual exploitation, abuse, human trafficking, peer pressure, bullying, and harassment. The program also assists participants in problem-solving, promoting a healthy lifestyle, and learning how to navigate life independently.
Connection and Outreach: We have an “open door policy” regarding communication with youth and youth parents. Whether you are getting bullied and have no one else to talk to, you have questions about how to defend yourself, or you need to reach out to a community who cares, we are here for you. We also commit to outreach with other nonprofit organizations, support groups, and communities.
